Last night Creek Wood Volleyball decided to give back to help the community of Waverly.
Head Coach Jeremy Baker reached out to Harpeth about donating all of the proceeds from the game, as well as donations collected, to Waverly High School.
They said yes.
Last night before a very rowdy crowd the Lady Red Hawks defeated Harpeth in three straight sets, but more importantly, they collected nearly fifteen hundred dollars to donate to Waverly.
I spoke with Coach Baker after the game and he informed me they weren’t the only people collecting.
Football, basketball, baseball, and the school as a whole are taking up money to donate.
They offered the kids a chance to purchase a relaxed dress code voucher for five dollars allowing the teens to dress down next week.
The high school is also taking up donations of any sort of items a person may need if they lost everything.
You can contact them at their front office number 615-740-6000.
Creek Wood is not the only school participating, however.
August 24th Dickson County Volleyball will host Kenwood, all proceeds and donations to benefit Waverly and greater Humpheries County.
If you prefer football Dickson Middle and Burns Middle will be organizing a JV game that night where all proceeds will go toward relief efforts.
That Thursday, August 26th, Dickson County girls soccer will be hosting Cheatham County and celebrating the 30th anniversary of the inaugural team at the high school.
Head Coach Chris Cardona and his team have also decided to donate all proceeds from the celebration and matchup.
Get out and support and consider donating or just buying an extra ticket to help those in need.
If you cannot make it out but are interested in donating, you can do so at the offices of WDKN.
108 West College Street from 8 am to 430 pm every day through Friday the 27th.
