The Tennessee Department of Health has issued a press released concerning early detection for both breast and lung cancer. The press release gives details of how the COVID-19 pandemic has created challenges for screenings, yet also addresses the Tennessee Pink and Pearl Campaign.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, its recorded that over 3.9 million breast cancer screenings have been missed. This results in later prognoses, which can cause more deaths among Tennesseans.
However, due to the increasing awareness October brings for breast cancer, they are asking for everybody to post pictures on November 5th captioned: “#TNPinkandPearl” and “#MyPinkandPearlWhy”.
