After a rough outing Thursday night Dickson was staring at the tall task of taking on Creek Wood in an emotional two-game set.

They would win both.

The Cougars bounced back from their loss to Rossview with a 10-0 win Friday night and an 8-2 victory Saturday afternoon.

It came down to Dickson, for at least these two games, correcting issues they’ve had all year.

They did not have errors and they did not leave runners stranded.

In two games they stranded low single-digit runners and had just two errors.

Friday night’s game also played out through the first four as a pitcher’s duel.

Pinson and Roth both were dealing and neither team was able to find much success until the 5th.

On Saturday it was a totally different story.

The Cougars scored in every bottom half-inning except the fourth (they did not have to play the bottom of the seventh).

Both of Dickson Counties’ errors came on Saturday and they allowed Creek Wood, ultimately, their only two runs in the series in the top of the third.

We will see if the Cougars can continue this uptick and if Creek Wood can get back to how they were, really just a week ago.

Dickson County now puts a two-game winning streak on the line against Stewarts Creek at home Thursday at 6:30.

Meanwhile, the Red Hawks will lick their wounds until Friday when they travel to Waverly at five.

We will carry the latter on the RFC Sports Network.
