The Chicks are a tough sell in country music these days but in 1998 they were launching into a legendary run of singles. They racked up 6 number ones, sold millions of albums, and toured the world before making political statements that would virtually end their careers. Since then The Chicks have popped up from time to time with the same melodic harmonies they were always known for but the success has yet to return. Their entire ride began 23 years ago today with their first number one, ‘There’s Your Trouble.’
