WDKN AM 1260 Dickson, Tennessee
Warren Medley
Now 85 years young, Warren Medley has been a signature voice on WDKN since the station went on the air in 1955. To this day he continues to host "Old Timer's" and "Know Your County" Saturdays mornings on WDKN, and helps promote WDKN through his tireless work with the VFW, AARP, Old Timer's Day Committee, and many other Dickson County Civic Groups.
A native of the Cookeville, Tennessee area, Warren first found his way onto the airwaves of WDKN hosting a jobs program. At the time Warren was employed full-time as manager of the Tennessee State Deparment of Employment Security for Western Middle Tennessee. It wasn't long before Warren accepted a part-time position with WDKN, selling advertising and hosting "Sports Parade," a fifteen-minute afternoon sports report. Warren soon found himself calling play-by-play for local semi-pro baseball, as well as local high school football and baseball.
During his tenor as President of the Dickson County Chamber Of Commerce, Warren helped lay the foundation for Dickson County's Industrial Park, and also played a pivotal role in getting the Old Timer's Day Festival started, Dickson County's Spring Festival held each year during the first weekend in May.
