Trial dates set for Primm and Hughes

Trial dates have been set for Isaiah Primm and Jonathan Hughes. The dates were set Tuesday  in Dickson County Circuit Court, with Judge Larry Wallace presiding. Neither defendant appeared in court and were represented by their attorneys.

Isaiah Primm will be tried first, his trial date is set for May 20, 2019. The state predicts that this trial will not take as long as the trial against Kurtis Primm, which lasted five days.

Jonathan Hughes will be tried on August 12, 2019.

Both defendants are charged with six counts, including the first degree murder of Quentin Tidwell and Marcedez Bell and the attempted murder of Montae Springer in a shoot-out that occurred at the Charlotte Picnic Grounds in April 2016.

The third defendant, Kurtis Primm, was tried in October. Primm took a plea deal that dropped four of the six charges. Primm is serving 15 years at 100% for the attempted murder of Montae Springer and 25 years at 30% for conspiracy to commit first degree murder. The sentences are concurrent with each other, and Primm will receive pre-trial jail credits.

Both trials will be held in Dickson County Circuit Court in Charlotte.
