DPD active shooter program airs on Local Access
DICKSON, TN – Residents who were unable to attend one of the free Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events seminars presented by the City of Dickson now have the opportunity to watch the program on the Local Access Channel.
Dickson Mayor Don L. Weiss Jr. made the decision to offer the active shooter program conducted by Crime Prevention Officer Sgt. David Cole in two public sessions following the Sept. 24 shooting at a church in Antioch. Cole has been presenting the program for more than a year to area industries, businesses, churches and civic organizations. Interest in the program increased following the Oct. 1 mass shooting at an outdoor concert in Las Vegas.
More than 150 people attended the programs offered at the Dickson Senior Center Oct. 11 and Dickson City Hall Oct. 24.
At the second session in the Council Chamber, Dickson Local Access Channel Manager Ralph Easley recorded the program with the permission of Cole, the Dickson Police Department and Texas State University, where the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training created the program.
The program is now airing on the City of Dickson’s Local Access Channel, which is Channel 19 for Comcast subscribers and available under the community channels for U-Verse subscribers in Dickson.
