Lakeview Park re-opened this week following the installation of new playground equipment.
The new Miracle Recreation Equipment playground replaces the equipment that was damaged when a large tree fell during a July storm.
Miracle of Kentucky & Tennessee installed the new playground this week after having to wait for the ground to dry enough following recent rains. Dickson Parks and Recreation Superintendent Cherie Wilson said the playground re-opened Thursday.
“We are excited to announce the completion of the installation of the new playground equipment and re-opening of Lakeview Park,” Wilson said. “The park overlooking City Lake is extremely popular especially for birthdays and other events with the covered pavilion. We have missed the playground for the past six months.”
After receiving a settlement from the city’s insurance company for the storm damage, the Dickson City Council accepted a bid of $32,356 from Miracle of KY and TN for the new playground equipment in October.
The park is located on Lakeview Park Drive between Beasley Drive and West First Street across from Tennsco Plant 2. For information on reserving the facility, contact the Dickson Parks and Recreation Department at 615-446-1721.
In addition to Lakeview Park, the Dickson Parks and Recreation Department has playground equipment located in three locations in J. Dan Buckner Park and at the Lester Speyer Community Recreational Complex on Tennsco Drive.
