Joseph Ray Daniels and Erika Castro-Miles are no longer being held in the Dickson County Jail. The two were transferred to the Tennessee Department of Corrections earlier today, which was confirmed in a press release from the Dickson County Jail.
Daniels is charged on five counts, including first degree murder, in the death of his 5-year-old son, Joseph “Baby Joe” Clyde Daniels. Daniels’ wife, Krystal Nicole Daniels, is also facing charges in the case, including criminal responsibility in aggravated child neglect. Krystal Nicole Daniels’ charges were recently thought to have been changed to first degree murder early Wednesday morning, but turned out to be a filing issue. Krystal Nicole Daniels remains in the Dickson County Jail.
Casto-Miles is charged with one count of first degree murder in the shooting of Sgt. Daniel Baker. Castro-Miles is charged with Steven Wiggins, who faces 12 counts including first degree murder and felony murder. Wiggins is currently being held in the Davidson County Jail in Nashville.
Joseph Ray Daniels and Erika Castro-Miles were both indicted on June 7 along with Steven Wiggins and Krystal Nicole Daniels during a special called session of the Dickson County Grand Jury and appeared before judge David Wolfe in Dickson County Circuit Court on June 8.
The two were transferred to the Tennessee Department of Corrections due to the magnitude of the two cases.
