The Dickson County Help Center is inviting churches and other community service organizations to a lunch to find out more about the online Charity Tracker Network. The free Lunch ‘N Learn will be 12-1 pm Friday at the Help Center at 103 West College St. Those planning to attend should RSVP at 615-446-0076 by noon Thursday. “We have been successfully using Charity Tracker for six-plus years to track and maintain records of families that we assist, plus it offers quick and easy reporting programs for needed reports,” said help center Executive Director Renee Boehm. “As the network administrators, we currently have eight churches that share information so that we can better serve those in need in our community, while cutting down on potential abuse.” Charity Tracker was created in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to provide communication between charitable agencies in order to reduce duplication of services and cut down on abuse to preserve resources. Churches that have benevolence programs and other organizations that provide assistance to residents in and around Dickson County can learn more about the services of Charity Tracker at Friday’s luncheon. Membership in the service includes a $15 monthly fee. Because the meeting includes lunch, those planning on attending are asked to RSVP to the help center.
