Final motions were made this afternoon in Dickson County Circuit Court in regards to the state’s case against Kurtis Primm. The trial is set to begin Monday Morning at 9:00 after several delays. One of the more notable motions made during the final preliminary hearing involved reducing count three, which was originally stated as attempted first degree murder, to attempted second degree murder. The motion was granted and the trial will proceed with those charges.
Primm, along with Isiah Primm and Jonathan Hughes, are charged with six counts. The first two charges are for the murders of Quintin D. Tidwell, Sr. and Marcedez T. Bell. The third count refers to the attempted second degree murder of Montae Springer, who survived after being shot nine times. Counts four through six are all conspiracy charges in the premeditated murders and attempted murder.
The murders were committed in April of 2016 in the Charlotte area. The murders are believed to have started in a fist fight between Tidwell and Isiah Primm over a $200 drug debt. Both Isiah Primm and Jonathan Hughes are being held at the Dickson County Jail, while Kurtis Primm is currently at the Montgomery County Jail.
