Don Weiss Jr. Re-elected as City Mayor
Mayor Don Weiss Jr. will continue to guide the City of Dickson for the next four years after winning his seventh consecutive term as city mayor.
Weiss was challenged in the race for the first time in 20 years but defeated opponent Justin Walton with 73 percent of the vote.
Weiss won with 1,167 votes and Walton finished with 433 votes for 27 percent of the vote.
In the first ward Betty Lou Alsobrook defeated Larry Hillis with 385 votes to Hillis’ 290 votes.
In the Second and Third Wards, Robby Harmn and Horace Perkins III ran unopposed and finned with 303 and 229 votes respectively .
In the Fourth Ward, Dwight Hayes won a fourth consecutive term, defeating Butch Bagsby. Hayes finished with 202 votes to Bagby’s 105 votes.
The results of Thursday’s election are unofficial until certified by the Dickson County Election Commission, which is scheduled to meet Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Pending certification of the election results, Weiss, will be sworn in for his new term at the Oct. 7 Dickson City Council meeting.
