Dickson shoplifter pulls knife, drives over a wall, and caught in the woods

A shoplifter at Lowe’s pulled a knife, fled from the store, drove off a tall embankment, and then hid in nearby woods before being surrounded and captured by Dickson Police.

Southbound traffic on Highway 46 was stagnant while in the pursuit and search was ongoing in the Crestview Park area where the suspect was attempting to evade capture.

According to Dickson Police, the suspect, Michael Russell, has multiple charges pending after first attempting to steal from Lowe’s. Russell pulled a knife when confronted by a store loss prevention employee, police said. At that point, Russell fled the scene in a car.

Dickson Police were alerted and two detectives saw he vehicle pull into the Crestview Park parking lot. The detectives followed and Russell drove the car over the side of a tall embankment. He then ran into the nearby woods and officers set up a perimeter around the area before he was eventually captured.
