Dickson robbery: Officers pursue Memphis suspects, arrested after vehicle crash

Two Memphis suspects charges with robbing a Dickson gas station were arrested following an Interstate 40 chase and crash Tuesday.

19 year old George D. McKinley of Memphis was the adult charged with aggravated robbery. A Memphis juvenile was also arrested in the incident.

Tuesday morning around 8:50, an armed robbery was reported at the 48 Shell on Highway 48 South at I-40 in southwest Dickson County. According to Dickson County Sheriff’s Office reports, two black males entered the store, one of them carrying a pistol, and demanded cash. The clerk complied and was not injured.

Detectives on the scene reviewed the gas station surveillance footage and determined the suspect was driving a gold sedan. Later in the day, the vehicle ran from Williamson County deputies on Interstate 840. A short time later, the 23rd Judicial District Drug Task Force unit on I-40 spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

Th vehicle refused to stop and continued on I-40 to the 133 exit where the vehicle crashed. The suspects then fled on foot.

A large scale search followed by the Tennessee Highway patrol and other local agencies. th two suspects were apprehended and arrested.

The vehicle was a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu that was reported stolen during a robbery in Memphis on May 6, 2019.
