Dickson Police spike strip, capture shoplifters at fire department

Shoplifters at the Dickson Walmart nearly rammed a Dickson Police patrol car Thursday morning while trying to escape authorities. 

The shoplifters then  led officer on a pursuit on back road until spike strips ended the chase at the Dickson Fire Department, according to the police chief

According to Dickson Police Chief Jeff Lewis, a male subject, the drive, ran out of the car but was apprehended.

Lewis said the shoplifters traveled back roads, then ran over spike strips officers deployed near Tice’s Springs Market. The suspects continued to drive on deflated tries until the chase ended at the Dickson Fire Department on Church Street.

Police were able to surround the suspects at the department’s and arrest the passenger, a female.

The suspects have not been identified. It is not yet known what the suspects were alleged to have stolen.
