Dickson man charged with attempted murder after standoff with deputies
A Dickson man has been charged with attempted first degree murder after deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call in Dickson County Monday morning.
Dickson County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call on the 1300 block of Yellow Creek Road in Dickson.
When deputies arrived the victim was outside the residence with visible injuries. There were two small children in the home at the time of the assault but they were not injured.
The victim was transported to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
42 year old John Roberts, ran back into the residence and refused to comply with deputies. Additional deputies, detectives and command staff responded scene. One detective responded to the hospital to meet with then victim.
During the standoff, Roberts would occasionally step out of the residence, but still refused to comply. After some time, Roberts stepped outside and deputies were able to take him into custody. He has been transported to the Dickson County Jail.
Roberts has been charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, domestic assault, and interference with a 911 phone call.
Additional charges are expected, including violation of bond conditions and resisting arrest.
