According to THP, 77 year old John McCutchen and 73 year old Susan Hayes were traveling eastbound at 9:30 am in a 2005 Pontiac Vibe Hatchback when a semi-truck driven by 39 year old Conway, Arkansas resident James Smith, traveling west bound on I-40 had a left front tire blowout. This caused the truck to cross the center median and into oncoming eastbound traffic.
