With Creek Wood High School’s graduation scheduled for 7:00 tonight, the Lady Red Hawks are now scheduled to play their Region 6-AA softball final against Giles County at 2:00 this afternoon. Pregame coverage on the RFC Sports Network begins at 1:45. Yesterday’s downpour right before game time thwarted any attempt to play the game and forced the delay. The Lady Red Hawks and Lady Bobcats will play this afternoon in Charlotte to determine who will be home and who will travel for the TSSAA state sectionals on Friday. Today’s winner will host Greenbrier while the loser travels to White House. The mid-afternoon start will hopefully allow Lady Red Hawk seniors Ashley Gibbs, Cheyenne Douthit, Carrie Allen and Taylor Griffith plenty of time to get ready for graduation at 7 pm in Red Hawk Stadium. Meanwhile, Dickson County’s sectional game on Friday has been scheduled for 4:30 pm to accommodate graduation at 7:30 in Dickson County Stadium. Having won the Region 6-AAA title Tuesday, the Lady Cougars are waiting to find out who their opponent will be from Region 5-AAA in a battle for a spot in next week’s Spring Fling. Clarksville and Wilson Central were rained out Wednesday and are scheduled to play today with the loser coming to Dickson while the winner will host Franklin tomorrow. Rachel Rife is the lone senior on the Lady Cougar squad who will have to go from the game to graduation. The TSSAA state tournament starts Tuesday in Murfreesboro.
