Creek Wood High School and Dickson County High School will hold their graduation ceremonies Thursday and Friday, respectively. Creek Wood’s 13th commencement ceremony on Thursday will be the last presided over by Principal Corey Duke, who has announced he is leaving the position. Friday’s 42nd commencement ceremony at DCHS will be the first for Principal Doug Phillips, who took over last year for Ed Littleton, who returned to the classroom and is now retiring at the end of the year. Creek Wood’s ceremony is scheduled for 7 pm Thursday in Red Hawk Stadium. Medalist addresses will be delivered by Blue Medalist Bailee Anthony, Red Medalist and Valedictorian Leah Grubb and Gray Medalist Rachel Bell. This will be the second year that Creek Wood’s commencement is held on Thursday night instead of Saturday morning. Dickson County High School’s commencement is scheduled for 7:30 pm Friday in Dickson County Stadium. Medalist addresses will be delivered by Gold Medalist Catherine Pierce, Silver Medalist Kamecia Talley and Bronze Medalist Brooke Sims. The valedictorian for the DCHS Class of 2014 is Davis Easley. Creek Wood High School’s graduation practice is set for 9 am Thursday while Dickson County will practice that day at 1:00. Should a commencement exercise be postponed because of weather, the schools have alternative times for Saturday and Sunday. If a commencement exercise begins and is stopped by rain, it will not be rescheduled.
