All Tennesseans invited to plant trees on 250K Tree Day

On March 23, 2019, Tennessee residents are invited to beautify their properties and communities by planting trees on 250K Tree Day.

Tennessee Environmental Council’s Tree Program was established in 2007 with a goal of planting one million trees across the state to help repopulate trees lost to development and other causes. The organization has planted over 540,000 trees since 2007 fulfilling the mission to educate and advocate for the conservation and improvement of Tennessee’s environment, communities and public health.

Trees are available to order for a $1 donation per tree which supplies lasts through March 17.  The event is organized by Tennessee Environmental Council in its efforts to maintain a healthy tree canopy in communities across Tennessee. Tree species include Red Oak, Red Bid, Pine and plum or similar fruit variety.

For Dickson County, trees must be picked up at Dickson City Hall, located at 600 E Walnut Street on Friday March 22 from 9am to 5pm.

This event draws tens of thousand volunteers who plant their trees at their homes, farms, businesses, neighborhoods, and other locations of their choosing.
