Three arrested in Dickson County pursuit, one suspect at large

A pursuit that came through Dickson has ended, but the search for one suspect who fled the scene is still active.

The incident began after a shooting incident that occurred at the Dollar General in Tennessee city where four suspects in a white sedan fled from the scene. The City of Dickson Police Department received the notification of the shooting and spotted a vehicle in the area matching the description given. The City of Dickson Police Department attempted to stop the vehicle, which turned into a pursuit that went down highway 46 towards Hickman County before heading east down interstate 40 towards Nashville. The pursuit ended around mile marker 190 when spike strips were throw across the road. Sean T. Caldwell fled from the vehicle around mile marker 176, where Interstate 840 joins with Interstate 40. Caldwell is still believed to be in the Dickson area and he may be armed.

The man hunt for 19 year old Caldwell is now in its second day. The other suspects involved in the shooting incident at the Dollar General in Tennessee City are in custody. 20 year old Derrick Watkins and 21 year old Tiara Young of Nashville and 20
year old Damario Davis of Clarksville are being charged with facilitation of especially aggraved robbery.

On July 30, Dickson County Sheriff’s office responded to shots fired at the Dollar General where there were two victims. Bryce Crowell suffered at least one gunshot wound while Brittney Whitsett suffered from a possible dislocated shoulder. Whitsett injured her shoulder while she and Crowell were trying to drive away from the suspects and wrecked their vehicle. Crowell has been transported to Vanderbilt Hospital. His condition is still unknown.

Detective Sarah McCartney spoke with Whitsett who stated that she had gone to the Dollar Store with Crowell in order to buy marijuana. She advised that a black male, Caldwell, got into the back of her vehicle with a shoebox in a plastic bag that was
empty. The exchange went wrong from there and Caldwell got out of her vehicle and started shooting at them.

After being apprehended, Tiara Young admitted they were meeting the vicitims in order to sell them marijuana. She said she witnessed her boyfriend, Caldwell, shooting at the victim’s vehicle. Derrick Watkins admitted to drving the vehicle after the shooting and Damario Davis admitted to being in the vehicle during the incident.

Currently the three apprehended suspects are not on bond at the moment.
