Steven Tuberville has beaten the odds.
The Vanleer man known locally as “Pappy” fought a grave, two-month battle with the coronavirus and won.
He returned home to Vanleer Wednesday to a warm welcome from the town to continue his recuperation.
Tuberville weathered the worst of the virus, going on and off a ventilator at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville and suffering a tracheostomy before spending a stint in rehab and being released.
Daughter Stephanie Tuberville has chronicled his fight on Facebook, literally receiving hundreds of prayers and good tidings from well-wishers whenever she updated her father’s progress.
Reached by Facebook, Stephanie Tuberville said she wanted her dad to rest up before considering an interview.
But a photo of her father being discharged Wednesday says it all, according to a Stephanie Tuberville’s Facebook.
The words on his T-shirt: “I am a walking, talking miracle.”
